Wolfsburg (AP) – Alexandra Popp made her comeback in the jersey of VfL Wolfsburg eight months after a serious knee injury. The Germany captain featured in a first-half friendly against Bundesliga rivals Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 30-year-old midfielder suffered a cartilage tear on her kneecap last year and has not played a game since May 2021. Popp’s goals this year are the German championship with her club and participation in the European championship in England in July.
