Hélène Hendriks thinks it is silly that asylum minister Marjolein Faber is being bashed like this, including at the Today Inside talk show table. She will receive an invitation. “Come to the table!”
PVV asylum minister Marjolein Faber is being completely put through the wringer at almost all talk show tables, even at the one on Today Inside. Johan Derksen is really extremely critical of this minister. “That lady, hey, I mean that seriously… She comes across as a village idiot every time on that TV,” he says in the broadcast from last night.
At the table at VI
Johan thinks that Faber should be at the table at VI. “If she had a very good advisor, she would say: ‘Go sometime…’ She doesn’t have one, but maybe she is watching herself, because maybe she has taste… If he comes and sits here for an evening and has a nice time with If we participate and appear a bit human, the Netherlands will see a completely different Mrs. Faber.”
Wilfred Genee points out René van der Gijp’s days off: “There will soon be an opening on Wednesday evening, so maybe she can join us then!”
Hélène in the breach
Hélène Hendriks is pro-Faber. “But you are saying that how she comes across determines how we view how she implements policy?” she says.
Johan: “Well, it has to do with the fact that no one takes her seriously.”
Hélène: “I sometimes find bashing Marjolein Faber a bit lame. She really didn’t do a number of things well, not even in the media, but…”
Johan: “But she has no sense of PR!”
Border controls
Hélène thinks Faber is doing a great job. “Another example, those border controls… Of course the opposition is now going against her and saying that it is all nothing and a wash, logical, but she has to clean up the mess of a number of years and on top of that: if there is no police capacity or military police, should she not do anything?”
Johan: “Since you sang Little Bird you think you know everything!”
Hélène: “Yes, that’s true!”
Comes across badly
Johan still thinks Faber is okay in terms of content. “These proposals are not that bad, but they seem so bad. She could show some human traits here at such a table.”
Sam Hagens: “You just really want her here at the table.”
Johan: “Well, I don’t think she will bring us many ratings.”
Wilfred: “Well, I think so!”
