It is over and out: after 25 years Daphne Deckers stops her weekly column in the woman. Does it have to do with the poop sweater incident or is it something else? “Beat heart faster.”

The Daphne Deckers column has been a fixed value of Vrouw for decades, the weekend supplement of De Telegraaf. The presenter always wrote at her permanent spot about Ditjes, Datjes and other futilities, but lately it was all very bad. For example, she recently wrote that she sleeps without underwear, because her buttocks are not sweating.

Poop sweater

Is this the level that the woman strives for? You can wonder. Not much later Daphne went one step further, because then she wrote that she had to poop terribly along the way and that she therefore sat down on the roadside. How did she wip her rear? With her husband’s sweater Richard Krajicek. Gadverdamme say.

Coincidence or not: only three months after the column about that poop sweater, Daphne suddenly leaves the woman. And not after a few years, no, really after a very long period of 25 years.

25 years

Daphne really turned for a long time. “From the year 2000 to now I wrote more than 1250 columns about everything that has kept me busy,” she says in her last part.

She says she always received many reactions from readers. “First via letters, then via e -mail and then via Instagram, and of course on the street – the reactions were always so cozy.”

Nurse

Why does Daphne stop? She points to the recent heart surgery of her husband Richard. “I have been a nurse here in recent weeks at home, which – I realize now – could have been quite exciting, were it not for Richard’s breast to be cut open.”

She concludes: “But luckily everything is going well with him again, which inspired me to investigate in the coming period that will make my heart beat faster. A new book? Everything is still open. But one thing is certain: I’m going to miss you!”
