In Smilde two passenger cars crashed at the Wittewijk at 5.20 pm. One of the vehicles came to a halt on the roadside, the other ended up with the back in a ditch. Two victims were taken to the hospital.
The cause of the accident is unknown and is still being investigated. The police have completely closed the road to traffic.
Bus traffic from Oosterwolde in the direction of Assen is bothered by the accident, the bus has to be detour.
