Collboni postpones the conference ‘The Responsive Mayor’ to February 29

The mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collbonihad planned to participate next Wednesday, January 31, in the event ‘The mayor responds’, organized once a year by the Col·legi de Periodistes. In the two previous mandates, when, logically, the appointment was called ‘L’alcaldessa respon’, she served Ada Colau to make mandate announcements.

The one on January 31 was marked in red because it was assumed that Collboni intended to appear at the conference with the government pact he was exploring with ERC and Barcelona en Comú – as a bipartite or tripartite one – already closed. The conference has been postponedas ‘Tot Barcelona’ advanced and confirmed by the council, which attributed the decision to agenda issues.

But behind the initiative to delay the event could be the realization that on Wednesday the mayor will not be in a position to present a mandate plan because it is not expected that the government pact has been settled.

As this newspaper has learned, the conference has been delayed to February 29, a month later than expected, which offers indications that by then there will already be an outcome. That does not prevent, of course, the resolution from arriving sooner, in the coming days. Collboni set the deadline to find a partner at the beginning of spring, March 20.
