The KNMI warns of thunderstorms in the northeast of the country on Sunday afternoon. Code yellow has been in force in Groningen, Drenthe and Overijssel since 1 p.m.
According to the weather institute, there is a chance of hail and wind gusts of around 60 kilometers per hour. A lot of rain can also fall in a short time. “Traffic and outdoor activities may be disrupted,” the KNMI said.
The weather warning remains in effect until 5 p.m. The showers will leave the country again on Sunday evening.
