Coast gets through the weekend satisfied

The catering industry on the coast naturally looks back with satisfaction on the sun-drenched weekend. The rescuers also had the beaches under control and were not faced with any major incidents.

The spring tide caused the water to move towards the dike more than usual, forcing bathers to constantly change their towel. The current was also stronger due to the natural phenomenon, but that caused few difficulties in the sea.

In Blankenberge the counter on the beach on Sunday afternoon stood at 25,000 visitors. The rescue service was prepared and had gathered sufficient manpower and medical personnel.

On Tuesday they expect a bigger challenge at the waterline. Then the temperatures would flirt with the heat records and the 40-degree mark. The sea is then one of the only places in the open air where cooling can still be obtained.
