Coach surprise at FC Bayern? New name traded

FC Bayern is looking for a coach. In the past few days, numerous candidates have already been traded on Säbener Straße. Now a new name is added.

As the “Abendzeitung” reports, Arne Slot could “become an option” in Munich. The Dutchman currently works for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie. His contract in Rotterdam runs until summer 2026.

However, according to the paper, Xabi Alonso is still FC Bayern’s desired solution. But: The commitment of Bayer Leverkusen’s successful coach to Säbener Straße is said to be seen as “extremely complicated”, according to the “Abendzeitung”.

The Spaniard (contract until 2026) is currently also being traded by Liverpool FC. The Premier League leaders need a successor to Jürgen Klopp. The 56-year-old is leaving the Reds at the end of the season after more than eight years. It cannot be ruled out that FC Bayern will have to engage in a tug of war with Liverpool FC over Alonso.

Numerous names traded at FC Bayern

Many other names have recently been linked to the German record champions: Sebastian Hoeneß (VfB Stuttgart), Roberto De Zerbi (Brighton & Hove Albion), Zinedine Zidane, Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte (all without a club).

FC Bayern recently agreed with Thomas Tuchel to end their collaboration early in the summer.

“We want to find a coach who fits Bayern Munich, including the ideas of Christoph Freund and me,” explained Bayern’s new sports director Max Eberl as part of his presentation of the requirements profile for the future trainer.

The 50-year-old continued: “We need stars, but we also need young, hungry talents. We don’t want to limit ourselves in our choices. Bayern Munich is a great address. The task over the next few months is to find the pieces of the puzzle: club, players and coaches to put together.”
