In a prestigious school a new course on “conscious eating” attracts a handful of students.

The teacher (Wasikowska, glacial) alternates scientific theories and asceticism and – seductive with the kids as well as with the principal and parents – she turns out to be an adept of the cult of the title Club: living without eating.

The Austrian Jessica Hausner, already author of the incredible Lourdes, and collaborator of Michael Haneke, between frigid geometries and private interiors where the small circle of hungry fanatics sometimes finds complicity (Zylberstein’s character is disturbing), stages the birth of a sect. The end is known: here beautiful and terrible.
