Club Brugge win big at FC Porto, Leverkusen beats Atlético

Club Brugge also won its second group match in the Champions League. The Belgian national champion was too strong for FC Porto in Portugal 4-0.

In the same group, Bayer Leverkusen defeated Atlético Madrid 2-0. Brugge, which previously beat Leverkusen, is only in the lead with 6 points after two games. Leverkusen and Atlético each have 3 points. FC Porto is still scoreless.

Brugge, with Bjorn Meijer in defence, took the lead in the 15th minute. Ferrán Jutglà converted a penalty after a foul by João Mário on the Spaniard. Shortly after the break, Kamal Sowah made the second for the Belgians. Andreas Skov Olsen scored the 0-3 on a long pass from Meijer. Antonio Nusa completed the party for Bruges with the fourth goal.

Bayer Leverkusen put pressure at home against the Madrilenians in the second half. After Patrik Schick missed a great opportunity, substitute Jeremie Frimpong enabled Robert Andrich to score in the 84th minute. With a quick counter, Moussa Diaby made it 2-0 on a pass from Frimpong. Mitchel Bakker also came in for Leverkusen in the final phase.
