After separation from Hoefkens
A few days after Carl Hoefkens split, FC Brugge presented a new coach. Scott Parker takes over from the Champions League round of 16, the fourth in the Jupiler Pro League table did not say anything about the length of the contract. For Parker it is the first station outside of England, most recently he was in charge of the one he had led back to the Premier League until the end of August. There he got an average of 1.82 points from 55 games. He also previously worked at Fulham FC.
Bruges parted ways with Hoefkens on December 28th. The Belgian champions have underperformed in the league and cup under the 44-year-old, who had succeeded Alfred Schreuder (Ajax) in the summer. In the last nine games, Brugge have only won one game – after 90 minutes. In the league, the blue-blacks are fourth after 18 match days, the gap to leaders KRC Genk is already twelve points. Shortly before Christmas, Bruges also lost against VV St. Truiden (1:4) in the round of 16 of the cup.
