The 23-year-old Italian, who drives for Trek-Segafredo on the road and took silver at this European Championship with the Italian pursuit team, crashed during the elimination race. It led to a massive crash with a lot of riders. Paternoster initially lay motionless on the track. She was treated there for minutes by a medical team.
