In Comines-Warneton, just across the language border, Clarebout Potatoes, from Heuvelland, is causing unrest. Clarebout has requested a permit to install an underground water pipeline, from the company to the language border. And that is strange because in Comines-Warneton there has not yet been a single permit application, but they do think that the pipeline will run as far as the Leie. The municipality fears that Clarebout wants to discharge waste water or withdraw water from the Leie.
