Kehl confirmed: BVB professional stays longer

Actually, Carney Chukwuemeka’s loan contract in Dortmund would have expired in June. Now he can end the club World Cup with the BVB.
Borussia Dortmund can rely on Carney Chukwuemeka a little longer. The English midfielder is retained beyond June 30 and can therefore continue to appear for BVB at the club World Cup in the USA.
Sports director Sebastian Kehl said on the sidelines of a training session in Fort Lauderdale: “There is positive news at Carney. I had the conversations with Chelsea. In the end, we have a general agreement that Carney remains with us as long as this tournament for Borussia Dortmund will go.”
According to Kehl, only formalities are to be clarified. At BVB, one is confident that the audience Chukwuemeka “will continue to see in the black and yellow jersey at the tournament.”
The loan originally dated until June 30 means that Chukwuemeka would no longer have been eligible to play at the round of 16 on Tuesday. Since his change from London in winter, the 21-year-old has been on the pitch in 16 competitive games for BVB, scored a goal.
