Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron and Robert Pattinson will apparently also be seen at his side, as “NME” reports.

Announcement on X by Universal Pictures:

The story of the “Odyssey” is about King Ithaca, who begins his journey home after the 10-year Trojan War, but his journey through dozens of wrong paths also lasts 10 years – during which Ithaca goes through many adventures. Themes such as loyalty, heroism and the fight against the divine will form the central core of the story.

Greek mythology in Hollywood

Greek mythology has found its place in Hollywood several times, and many major studios have already exploited the epic stories. Most recently, in 2024: Netflix released the drama series “KAOS,” an almost comedic, contemporary reinterpretation of the mythology. In the story, six people learn that they are part of a Greek prophecy.

From “Oppenheimer” to “Odyssey”

With Universal Pictures, Nolan most recently had the box office hit “Oppenheimer” released in cinemas in 2023. This film told the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, who worked with a team to develop the first atomic bomb during World War II. The film earned numerous awards, including the 54-year-old director receiving an Academy Award for Best Director.
