In a new episode of her podcast “Messy”, Christina Applegate spoke openly about her father’s death for the first time – and lost the version. In a tearful voice, the 53-year-old revealed to her co-moderator, the fellow actor Jamie-Lynn Sigler (“How I Met Your Mother”): “My father died just a week ago.” It was the first time that she really cried. “I think I’ve not allowed myself that so far.”

Applegate: “He was always part of my life”
The death of her father Robert Applegate, who was 82, and worked as a producer at Dot Records in the music industry, would leave a noticeable gap with her – despite a complicated family history.
“He and my mother separated when I was five months old, but since then he has always been part of my life,” said the actress, who had been with Brad Pitt in the late 1980s. Even if she did not grew up with her father, he always played a role in her life.
More than 30 hospital stays since the diagnosis
