Christian Eriksen wears captain’s armband during practice match in cardiac arrest stadium | Foreign football

Christian Eriksen wears the captain’s armband in Denmark’s exhibition game against Serbia in Copenhagen on Tuesday. It will be Eriksen’s first game at Parken stadium in the Danish capital, where he suffered a cardiac arrest during the match against Finland at the European Championship last June.

“Christian will be the captain tomorrow,” national team coach Kasper Hjulmand announced. “I can also say that before I started thinking about it, it was Kasper Schmeichel who came to me with the proposal.” Schmeichel wore the captain’s armband in the game against the Netherlands last Saturday.

cardiac arrest

Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest in June during the European Championship match with Finland in the same stadium. He has now resumed his career with a defibrillator in England at Brentford. In the match against the Netherlands, the Dane made his comeback in the national team last Saturday. He was barely on the field when he scored the Danes’ second goal. The Orange squad won the game 4-2.

Denmark has to do it against Serbia without Yussuf Poulsen and Thomas Delaney. Both players were injured in the game against the Netherlands.
