Partly due to a lack of fresh blood, the ChristenUnie disappears in the municipality of De Wolden. From tomorrow, the group will officially join the CDA, which ends in four seats due to the extra seat. The Christian Democrats are therefore the second party in the city council behind municipal interests (nine seats).

According to the ChristenUnie, finding new board members and council support was a challenge. “This was partly the reason to start a conversation with the CDA, with whom a substantive relationship has been shared for years,” the party reports. The members have agreed to the step with a large majority.

Corné den Hollander will continue as a CDA party member from tomorrow. “My supporters have chosen me to represent them in the council. However, the loss of the support fraction has made it increasingly difficult to offer the quality that they can expect from me as a one -man group. The connection with the CDA enables us to guarantee that quality and find out our promise to voters.”

In addition to Den Hollander, the CDA group in De Wolden consists of chairman Tamara de Boer, Jan-Michiel Bakker and Iris Bouwers.
