Chris Rock’s joke about the Oscars is too violent for Netflix – It was cut from the new show

One part of the joke was completely cut out.

The removal of the joke was done in agreement with the comedian. PDO

Comedian Chris Rock spoke for the first time about the incident seen at last year’s Oscars in a taped last Saturday Chris Rock: Selective Outrage in the show.

In his jokes, Rock took a stand, among other things, on the fact that he is not a victim.

– You won’t see me on Oprah or Gaylen in programs. I took the punch like Manny Pacquiao! Rock stated.

A recording of that show has been saved on Netflix, which can be viewed by subscribers to the streaming service. However, the recording in question is not exactly the same as the show has been.

Not all jokes involving Will and Jade Smith were removed from the recording. PDO

The recording in question is an edited version.

– He (Jade Pinkett Smith) started all this shit. She said that I, a grown man, should quit my job because “her husband didn’t get an Oscar nomination for the movie Concussion”, Rock joked live.

The comment in question has been removed from the recording.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Rock is aware of the editing. He reportedly worked with Netflix editors.

What happened?

The 2022 Oscars saw a major incident when actor Will Smith punched comedian Chris Rock. Rock had been asked to present the documentary of the year award.

Before presenting the award, Rock joked about the illness of actress Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, who was sitting in the front row. He suffers from the inflammatory autoimmune disease alopecia, the symptoms of which include hair loss and nail changes. Due to the disease, he is bald.

– As if he was preparing for a new one GI– movie, Rock said.

Pinkett-Smith just rolled her eyes at the comment. Smith initially seemed to laugh at the comment, but soon he stormed the stage and punched Rock in the face.

Confused by the situation, Rock stood dazed on the stage and Smith went back to his wife in the stands.

– Wow. Will Smith beat me. This is the greatest night in the history of television, Rock was told.
