The winner of Kies Kraker this year, thick tripe of CV De Broken Stachels and René van Rooij, can no longer be listened to through the popular Spotify music platform. Since Friday is the song offline. The carnival band has no idea what’s going on.
“Really bizarre,” says Jop Roeland of the carnival band. “We all get reactions and questions from people. Everyone wants to know why the song is no longer on it, but yes, we don’t know either. “”
ABBA
The melody of Dikke Pens is based on a song by ABBA. Yet, according to Roeland, that of the broken heaters is not necessarily to do with the fact that the number has been taken on Spotify offline.

“We have homemade all the music and filled everything up neatly and correctly on Spotify,” says Roeland. “It’s just allowed, so that shouldn’t be the problem.”
Possibly it is a mistake. “A bug, that could be. There has been an update from Spotify. But normal, we don’t know for sure. We just hope it will be resolved quickly and are busy arranging that. ”
Spotify was not available for comment.
Clap Your Pens
The song ‘Dikke Pens (Clap Your Pens)’ was chosen by many tens of thousands of people from Brabant as the carnival hit of 2025. The song is, with a cool wink, an indictment against all the influencers who only share ‘perfect’ photos on social media.
The song can still be listened to via other platforms, such as Apple Music and YouTube.
Ladders
In 2023, the annual audience prize for the best carnival song to ‘Ladders Sat’ Van Gullie and Lanterfantje. That number had to be taken from the maker of the original from Spotify, but later the winner came out at Kies Kraker.
