De Korenbloem district school now also establishes 150 students, from toddlers to the fourth grade. But the new plan will close in 2029. Several parents see that not sitting and therefore organized a protest march.
“We especially hope that the school group is reconsidering its decision to merge three smaller schools, including these, into one big school. This would mean that our school must disappear. That is why we organize this march: to argue for the preservation of our school. Our ultimate goal is that this school can continue to exist here forever,” it sounds.
“It is about transparency, participation and the way in which the value of the school here in the neighborhood is above all for us.”
Especially the small scale is an important subject for different parents: “I think it is great that everyone knows each other, it really brings the neighborhood together. The children are very well taken care of by everyone. They can both go by bike and on foot, which is very valuable.”
Whether the protest will effectively change something can still be seen.
