A young girl was stuck on Tuesday afternoon in a playground on the Doudentlaan in Tilburg in a football goal. At primary school De Regenboog, the child was stuck with her leg between the bars. The fire brigade liberated the girl.
According to eyewitnesses, the girl had climbed on the goaltje. Then she was probably trapped between the metal bars on top of the goal while playing with her leg. Bystanders then called in the emergency services.
Heavy tools
The fire brigade rushed to the playground and managed to push the bars of the goaltje apart with the help of a hydraulic spreader. That way the girl’s leg came loose and she could be freed. Normally such a spreader is used in serious accidents to free people who are trapped in a car.
Ambulance personnel has investigated the girl’s leg on the spot, it is unclear what her injuries are. The municipality of Tilburg was informed about the incident and later investigate whether the goaltje still meets all safety requirements.
More often
This children and adults get stuck in playground equipment happens more often. Last November a teenager was still stuck in Schommel in Raamsdonksveer. The fire brigade had to take the swing apart to free the girl.
Something similar happened in Tilburg in 2021. There too, a teenager thought he fits into a swing that is intended for small children and it turned out to be disappointing and the fire brigade came to the rescue.
Twice
In Oosterhout it also went wrong twice. In 2022 a boy on the pearl butterfly was trapped with his knee between two boards of a play set. The fire brigade has one of the boards measuring through to get the child loose.
Five years earlier in 2017 it was also hit, but then in the Vrachelen district. There a girl got stuck between two wooden posts. The fire brigade did not have to demolish this playground, but could screw it apart to free the child. The play set was then adjusted by the municipality to prevent it from happening again.
With the head
More exciting was the plight situation in which a toddler was in Geldrop in 2015. The boy had had his head between two metal bars and was then stuck. With the hydraulic scissors, one of the bars has been cut and the toddler freed from the playground.
