The former bomber today is the manager of the club in Serie D: “Once Oliver told me that if I wanted to make 10 goals, I had to aim to score 20. You have to dream of the maximum …”
Skiers, mountaineers and … footballers. Who said the Aosta Valley is not a region for football players? In recent years, the Vallée nurseries have produced four Serie A players. Few? Maybe yes maybe not, in Aosta and surroundings football is a secondary sport. The fabulous four of the Aosta Valley football are Sergio Pellissier, a former Chievo flag; Paolo De Ceglie, former Juve outside; Hans Nicolussi Cavilgia, Venice midfielder in the season just closed; Nicolò Savona, a young Juve defender. They are all born in Aosta for hospital reasons and then grown up in the surrounding municipalities. Sergio Pellissier, for example, is from Fenis, a village known for the medieval castle. “My dad – says Sergio – was the slaughter of the country. As a child I practiced all the sports of snow, sleds and bobs included. At 14 I stopped because football was becoming important and I didn’t want to risk an accident on skiing or with other means. Since then I have no more sciato, just ever”.
