Christopher Nkunku also leaves Chelsea FC this summer and increases the income of the blues to over 300 million euros with his switch to AC Milan. The record for the club world champion now waves the record for a season. At the Rossoneri, the 27 -year -old Frenchman signed a contract until 2030 and is the longed -for reinforcement for the attack – even if it shouldn’t stay.
For Nkunku, Milan pays a basic reduction of 37 million euros according to the agreed media reports. Due to bonuses of 5 million euros, the former Leipzig and transfer market Bundesliga player of the 2022 season can catch up and overtake playmacher legend Rui Costa, who came from Florence in 2001 for EUR 41.3 million. Inflation -adjusted, however, the transfer for the Portuguese is to be assessed much higher in comparison.
At a glance: Milans most expensive entrances / Chelseas most expensive departures
At Chelsea, Nkunku is the ninth player who changes this summer for 20 million euros or more to another club. The transfer income of the professional team is already at EUR 315.8 million, plus 7.5 million euros for ex-U21 players Ishé Samuels-Smith (Strasbourg). Only the AS Monaco 2018/19 took more in one season: 367.3 million euros went to the principality for Kylian Mbappé and Co.
Before changing Milan: FC Bayern also on Nkunku on it
Nkunku was a topic at many clubs this summer, also at FC Bayern. However, the record champion only wanted to borrow him and prefer to sell Chelsea – hence the surcharge to Milan. It is unclear whether the transfer would also have come about if that of Bayer striker Victor Boniface (24) had not failed due to the medical check. Probably, however, since Milan is also looking for a classic center forward to the Deadline Day – output initially open.

There is also a large medical record at Nkunku: At Chelsea, he has never really found a change from Leipzig from Leipzig in the summer of 2023 due to his 60 million euros. Since then, he has missed 54 games, including international matches for France, has 18 goals and five assists in 62 games for the blues. Its market value gradually dropped from 80 million euros over the years to EUR 35 million. It remains to be seen whether the risk is less than with a Boniface transfer.
