Chelsea owner Abramovich sells superyacht on first day of war

In the wake of sanctions against Russian oligarchs, more and more details about the assets of ex-Chelsea boss Roman Abramovich are coming to light. In this context, a superyacht costing around 40 million euros is once again coming into focus.

The extremely impressive fleet of ships owned by Roman Abramovich, who still owns Chelsea, has increasingly come into focus after the sanctions imposed on the Russian oligarch. It has long been known that the billionaire owns two of the largest and most expensive mega yachts in the world, the “Eclipse” and the “Solaris”.

In the course of the investigations by the global authorities, at least three other yachts were then assigned to the oligarch: the 50-metre-long “Halo”, the escort boat “Garcon” and the 50-metre-long “Sussurro”, which has since been put up for sale has not officially changed hands to this day, so it is still owned by Abramovich.

Until a few weeks ago, the Chelsea owner also owned the 50-meter-long superyacht “Aquamarine”. And although the boat was not delivered until 2021, making it the newest addition to the Russian oligarch’s fleet, Abramovich has already sold that boat – on February 24, the day of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The yacht’s new owner is businessman David Davidovich, who confirmed to the Guardian that he is the owner. The Chelsea boss and Davidovich, who has had close business ties with Abramovich for many years, did not want to confirm Abramovich’s connection to the “Aquamarine” when asked by the English newspaper. To his knowledge, the yacht is not affected by the sanctions, explained Davidovich.
