After leaving FC Bayern, Julian Nagelsmann is one of the most sought-after coaches available on the international transfer market. His flirtation with Chelsea now seems to be getting hotter.
While FC Bayern is not on track even under the new trainer Thomas Tuchel, Julian Nagelsmann currently has an unexpected amount of free time. The 35-year-old spends this primarily with his partner Lena Wurzenberger, with whom he only attended an ice hockey game in Munich on Wednesday evening.
Nagelsmann could soon get serious again: The released coach is considered a promising candidate for the English purchasing champions Chelsea FC.
After Graham Potter was thrown out, ironically once Thomas Tuchel’s successor in London, blues legend Frank Lampard took over the coaching job until the end of the season. In the summer, however, the ex-professional, who has already failed in the past, will have to vacate his place again.
In addition to the Spaniard Luis Enrique, Nagelsmann is traded as a top contender. Even more: According to “Bild”, the German should be “given the opportunity to introduce himself personally to the bosses and present his ideas.”
After leaving FC Bayern: Nagelsmann reunion with Vivell?
At Chelsea he would meet an old friend. At the end of the previous year, Christopher Vivell joined the Premier League representative as technical director. The 36-year-old was previously a squad planner at RB Leipzig and had worked there with Nagelsmann from 2020 to 2021.
Luis Enrique, who last looked after the Spanish national team at the World Cup in Qatar, flew to London last week to negotiate with Chelsea boss Todd Boehly. The chances of an agreement are not bad, wrote “Mundo Deportivo”. So far, however, there has been no agreement.
