Chelsea FC is in the semi-finals of the English Football League Cup for the 17th time. The club world champion beat third division side Cardiff City with some difficulty 3-1 (0-0) in the round of the last eight.

In the first half the outsiders were the slightly better team.

Alejandro Garnacho (57th), who came on as a substitute at the restart, gave the guests, who have already won the League Cup five times, the lead.

After David Turnbull’s equalizer (75′), substitute Pedro Neto (82′) secured the lead for the Blues, and Garnacho (90+3) again made the difference.
