Chelsea defeated Brentford 2-1 in the 16th week match of the English Premier League played at Stamford Bridge. In the first half of the match, Marc Cucurella put Chelsea ahead in the 43rd minute with an assist from Noni Madueke. In the second half, Nicolas Jackson made the score 2-0 with the assist from Enzo Fernández in the 80th minute. Brentford reduced the gap to one with the goal scored by Bryan Mbeumo from Kevin Schade’s pass in the 90th minute, but the remaining time was not enough for Chelsea to take a point away.
With this win, Chelsea continued its promotion momentum in the league and ranked 2nd with 34 points. Brentford, which returned from a difficult away game without scoring any points, remained with 23 points.
In the 17th week of the Premier League, Chelsea will host Everton away. Brentford will host Nottingham Forest, the flash team of the season, at home.
