Charlie Chaplin’s daughter, actress Josephine Chaplin, 74, has died

Josephine Chaplin appeared in many films, but later she oversaw her father’s legacy.

Also memorable as an actor Josephine Chaplin has died at the age of 74. Chaplin’s close circle announced that he died on July 13.

He was a movie icon Charles Chaplin (1889–1977) sixth of eleven children. Josephine’s mother was Oona O’Neill (1925–1991), playwright by Eugene O’Neill daughter.

Chaplin first made his film debut at the age of just three when he was seen in a small role with his sisters in his father’s latter-day classic Limelight (1952).

15 years later, he had a small role in Charlie Chaplin’s last film, Slandered in the Countess of Hong Kong (1967) starring Marlon Brando and Sophia Loren.

However, his acting career was not limited to small appearances in his father’s films. In 1972, Chaplin acted in three films: In L’odeur des fauveswhich also starred the director legend Vittorio De Sica, in Escape to the Sunand screen legend Pier Paolo Pasolini In the Cantebury Talesin which she played the role of May.

Chaplin later performed together Klaus Kinski with in the Jack the Ripper movie Butcher of Soho (1976), in the early cinema of Isabelle Huppert Diary of a female doctor (1976) and In a small town boy (1984) with Liv Ullmann and Kiefer Sutherland.

For years, Chaplin managed his father’s legacy and copyright management office, The Chaplin Office in Paris.
