Charles makes his first state visits as king

King Charles III,’s first state visits as king are to France and Germany. Buckingham Palace made the announcement on Friday.

The matter was reported by several British media, among others BBC and Guardian.

Camilla, the queen’s consort, also goes along for the visits. The royal couple will travel to the country from the 26th to the 31st. March.

During the trip, King Charles will address the French Parliament and the German Bundestag.

French President Emmanuel Macron hosted the royal couple’s state visit to the Palace of Versailles. In addition to dinner, the king will visit an organic wine farm and areas that were destroyed by last summer’s forest fires.

In Germany, the federal president Frank-Walter Steinmeier receives the king at the Brandenburg Gate. The King will also visit the World War II memorials in Hamburg.

The palace informs that the visits will be used to celebrate the countries’ common history and values. In addition to this, the countries discuss the prevailing world situation and climate change. The aim of the visits is to strengthen relations with neighboring European countries.
