Street pastor Dick visits shopping centers in Hoorn twice a week to hand out a cup of coffee together with volunteers. This is often where the best conversations arise, he says. “At Kersenboogerd there is always a group of people waiting for us.” The cargo bike contains all the necessities for a bit of fun, such as a table, coffee, chairs and a blanket.

Yesterday morning Dick found out that the cargo bike had been stolen. “He was in the barn of the church Het Octaaf. I saw him on Wednesday evening and yesterday morning he was gone,” says Dick. “Everything that was in it had been dumped out and was on the ground. That is of course a shame, a shame.”

The volunteers are also shocked and very disappointed. “They are so involved and think this is so important to do.” But, Dick reassures, the coffee moments continue as usual. “Then we’ll get there in another way.”
