Charges against Alec Baldwin dropped for the death of a film technician

The New Mexico prosecutor’s office (USA) has withdrawn the involuntary manslaughter charges against the actor Alec Baldwin, who fatally shot the director of photography of “Rust & rdquor;, Halyna Hutchins, indicate several US media.

The event occurred when the actor was rehearsing a scene from the film and shot Hutchins with real bullets, who died shortly after.

Baldwin’s attorneys, Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro, were pleased with the outcome, Variety reports. Baldwin was facing a request for 18 months in jail and a $5,000 fine.

The film’s gunsmith, Hannah Gutiérrez-Reed, was also charged, with which they faced up to 18 months in jail and a $5,000 fine, although with new legislative changes she could have faced up to five years in prison.

Baldwin was allegedly given an unloaded gun for rehearsals for the scene, though there turned out to be a bullet inside.
