Chantal Janzen suddenly appears continuously on television in the same clothes and her colleagues join in. According to the well-known TV director Bert van der Veer, it leads to anger among TV stylists.
TV celebrity Tina Nijkamp, the former channel boss of SBS 6, has been bothered for a while: programs in which the same presenters and jury members wear several outfits in one episode. That means that material from several shooting days has been edited into one episode on the editing table: quite striking.
Same clothes
You just have to let those TV stars wear the same thing every recording day, because then you don’t have that problem, says Tina. And guess what? They listened to it at Holland’s Got Talent. Chantal Janzen and her colleagues suddenly wear exactly the same thing every day of recording. That makes mounting a lot easier.
It is a new trend, says the well-known TV director Bert van der Veer. “The phenomenon was first seen in Beat the Champions, the quiz with the bright boys: Chantal wore the same black trouser suit in every episode – undoubtedly regularly dry-cleaned. Logical: this way the candidates can be easily mixed together.”
‘Sheer robbery of bread!’
Now the stars of Holland’s Got Talent no longer change clothes. “Pure robbery for the army of stylists”, Bert calls it.
He spoke to one of them. This sylist says, “We cannot accept this. Now we don’t deliver anything at all, so they just sit naked behind that desk.”
Bert: “Chantal said that another solution should be conceivable.”
Fierce opponent
Incidentally, Tina was already fiercely opposed to all those expensive TV stylists in her SBS 6 time. At the time, she wanted to abolish it at Hart van Nederland, because it would result in cost savings of around 60,000 euros per year. However, the presenters of the program opposed this measure.
Now, all these years later, Tina also notices that it is becoming more and more commonplace to have TV stars wear exactly the same for an entire series.
Johnny
Johnny de Mol also wore the same thing as last week in De Kwis met Ballen yesterday, according to Tina:
