‘Chantal Janzen and Martijn Krabbé do not want to continue with Blow Up’

Chantal Janzen and Martijn Krabbé do not want to return as a presentation duo of the balloon show Blow Up, ratings professor Tina Nijkamp expects. “They will soon be ‘too busy’.”

They have received a lot of criticism in the past month and a half: Chantal Janzen and Martijn Krabbé. Their latest show, the balloon show Blow Up, is said to be too infantile. “The image of Martijn and Chantal is at stake with this, I think,” said Telegraaf journalist Jordi Versteegden.

Made fun of

René van der Gijp couldn’t believe his eyes when he tuned in to Blow Up. “Chantal Janzen can do something, right? Can she say no? Then you’re not going to present a balloon show, are you? Come on man!”

The balloon show was even mocked in the ratings hit Even Tot Hier. After a rap by Arnold Karskens for his broadcaster Ongehoord Nederland, presenter Jeroen Woe remarked: “The only thing more infantile on television is that balloon program!”

‘Chantal stops it’

Blow Up experienced its final last weekend and a cautious 655 thousand people watched it. The score was good in the commercial target group, which is important for RTL 4, says viewing figures professor Tina Nijkamp. “A season two will definitely be ordered,” she writes. “The final had 26 percent market share.”

However, Tina expects that second season will be without Chantal and Martijn. “I do think that given their sometimes somewhat cynical remarks and the ‘where have I ended up’ look that can be read from their faces now and then, Chantal and Martijn are ‘too busy’ and have a ‘too full agenda’. ‘ will have.”

Jamie and Vivienne

Tina, who was the channel boss of SBS 6 years ago, tips RTL to go for the B-garnish. “Perhaps, for example, Jamai and Vivienne (van den Assem, ed.) will be the new presenters?”

“And maybe two episodes less? And/or duos instead of solo participants? This is because the episodes are a bit too similar…”
