The sports winter 2024/25 has long been history, the new season is still a distance. However, the new squad lists, which the German Ski Association announced on Wednesday, are already giving an interesting view. There were some changes in the DSV train horses biathlon and ski jumping.
While the DSV only called seven athletes in the 1A squad before the past biathlon winter, this time it made eight ski hunters into the elite course group. Selina Grotian, Janina Hettich-Walz, overall World Cup winner Franziska Preuß, Vanessa Voigt, Sophia Schneider and Johanna Puff defended their status, Marlena Fichtner and Julia Tannheimer back.
Hanna Kebinger, on the other hand, no longer appears in the lists after a disappointing season. Stephanie Scherer, Lisa Maria Spark, Julia Kink and Anna Weidel, who have also gained experience in the World Cup, can all be found in the course group 1b. This also applies to Charlotta de Buhr and Lea Zimmermann, who have recovered.
For the men, the A-squad remains unchanged at first glance: Philipp Horn, Johannes Kühn, Philipp Nawrath, Danilo Riethmüller, Justus Strelow, Simon Kaiser, Roman Rees and David Zobel said their place, but the DSV with Horn, Kühn, Nawrath, Reithmüller and Strelow equipped five athletes with Olympiacader. For comparison: In the previous year, this was only true for Kühn, Nawrath and Strelow.
There were big changes in the 1B squad. There, only Lucas Fratzscher, Leonhard Pfund and Linus Kesper claimed their place, Fabian Kaskel, Franz Schaser and Elias Seidl, Darius Lodl, Benjamin Menz and Philipp Lipowitz no longer appear in the lists.
Big changes in ski jumping
After the resignations of Markus Eisenbichler and Stephan Leyhe, it was clear in ski jumping that there will be changes at the highest level. In addition to the established Karl Geiger, Pius Paschke, Philipp Raimund and Andreas Wellinger, Felix Hoffmann and Adrian Tittel were newly appointed. With Martin Hamann, Luca Roth and Justin Lisso and Constantin Schmid there are four athletes in the large 1B squad, who may have had hope for more.
In the meantime, the 1a group has been polished up. Only Selina Freitag, Anna Hollandt, Luisa Görlich and Katharina Schmid with this status in the winter, were now found in the highest course group with this status.
Agnes Reisch, Juliane Seyfarth, Alvine Holz and Emely Torazza are new to the list. Reisch, Seyfahrt and Wooden move up from the 1B squad, Torazza only switched from the Swiss Association to the DSV in 2024.
