According to a media report, there will be no move from Ronald Araujo to FC Bayern Munich, at least this winter. According to information from the pay-TV channel “Sky”, the topic is off the table.
There would be a small chance for the summer, even if central defender Araujo were to extend his contract with FC Barcelona beyond 2026.
According to Sky, Bayern were prepared to pay over 60 million for the defender. There is also said to have been a phone call between Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel, sports director Christoph Freund and the Uruguayan national soccer player.
Araujo moved from Boston River to the Catalans in the summer of 2018 for around 4.7 million euros and has now become a leading player there. The 24-year-old’s contract in Barcelona runs until June 30, 2026, and his market value is estimated at 70 million euros.
