The Celtic in the final shortens with Maeda, while the French also pay the expulsion of Al Musrati. Tuesday the returns to decide who passes to the round of 16
Not exactly two beautiful games, but still balanced. In the first leg of the Champions League playoffs Bayern Munich wins 2-1 in the Celtic house thanks to a pearl of Olise (at 45 ‘) and a beautiful turn from Kane (49’) which make Maeda’s net useless (at 79 ‘ ), while the monk was beaten at home by Benfica for 1-0 (Pavlidis in 48 ‘). In both games the teams gave the feeling of being more afraid of losing than desire to win. The tactic thus had the best on the show.

Celtic immediately renounces playing, thinking exclusively to defend himself, but still creates the first opportunity after just 25 seconds: Kühn concentrates from the left and kicks with the left -handed surprising Neuer. However, the Bavarian goalkeeper is covered by Idah who is offside and the goal is canceled. From that moment the Bayern controls the game, keeping the ball and trying to allocate the Scots. The race does not take off, the Celtic never overlooks the Bavarian trocar, but the Germans do not create. The race thus unlocks at the 45th minute with a great play by Olise: the French, caught by Upamecano, beats Schmeichel with a powerful accident that slips under the crossroads. At the beginning of the second half Kane realizes the 2-0 with a nice turn on Kimmich’s corner. Celtic tries to react, asks for a penalty for Upamecano intervention, then scores with Maeda, good at exploiting, on corner, an uncertainty of Kane. Hatate is looking for a draw in 82 ‘, but Goretzka saves the door to deviate his shot. Bayern runs balls, the rhythm lowers and the game ends without other emotions.

The monk tries to frighten Benfica from the first minutes with Embolo, but the Portuguese defense holds up. Benfica initially becomes dangerous only in the 9th minute, when Pavlidis takes advantage of a ball lost by Kehrer to frighten the opposing defense. Benfica is too inaccurate on the counterattack and struggles to get out of its own half. Among the hosts, Golovin is very active, who, however, on more than one occasion, the last passage for Akliotche is wrong, who in 10 ‘wasted the greatest goal ball of his game shooting on Trubin. In the second half the wind changes: Araujo serves Pavlidis in depth by cutting Salisu out of the game. The Greek striker controls the ball and creates the 1-0 with a soft lob. At 52 ‘another episode: the Musrati asks the yellow of the opponent Carreras but, already warned, it is he who is sent to the shower. The Benfica pushes, seeks the doubling also by inserting Di Maria (released by injury shortly after) and Belotti, but Majecki is attentive and closes the door. In the final minutes it is Amdouni to make himself dangerous, but the defense of the monk (who in the return race will also have to do without the disqualified Zakaria) holds up. He then ends 1-0, with Benfica who exploited the episodes to conquer Montecarlo.
