Current President, CEO and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Yasuhito Hirota will take over the position of chairman on January 1st. According to the company, Hirota will remain CEO afterward, but will give up his other current positions.

Mitsuyuki Tominaga, who has previously served as Managing Executive Officer as well as Chief Digital Officer (CDO) and Chief Information Officer (CIO), will be the new President and COO at the beginning of next year.

CEO Hirota justified the promotion: “Since 2018, Mitsuyuki Tominaga has played a key role, particularly in promoting the digitalization of Asics,” he explained in a statement. “I am completely sure that as President and COO he will contribute to increasing the shareholder value of the Asics Group.”
