The CFO of a software company is said to have embezzled at least around two million euros in order to finance his lavish lifestyle.

The 36-year-old was arrested on Tuesday in his apartment in Berlin-Schöneberg, as the public prosecutor and police announced on Wednesday. The man is now in custody on charges of commercial breach of trust.

Evidence was seized from his apartment – including cell phones, luxury watches, paintings and a vehicle with a total value of around 650,000 euros.

The 36-year-old is said to have concealed his actions by using cryptocurrencies.
