A 43-year-old man from Coevorden has been sentenced to four years in prison for nine thefts, burglaries and robberies. Half of this is conditional. A 24-year-old fellow has to serve a prison sentence of six months for a burglary.
Especially the robberies on a Kruidvat, in which a 16-year-old cashier was threatened with a knife, a supermarket and a pizzeria, the judge charges the forties heavily. He has caused fear and an unsafe feeling for the victims. “He completely ignored the adverse consequences of his actions,” the judge said.
The man was active at the end of 2023 and active 2024 in Slagharen, Dalen, Vroomshoop and Coevorden, among others. A burglary in a shed and home in Hollandscheveld a year ago the man did together with the twenties. The thieves took jewelry, coins, but also Nazi flags.
The forties denied part of the accusations. The judge nevertheless sees sufficient evidence for a conviction of nine facts. In all cases, according to the judge, the man was guided by the financial gain. He also did not shy away from robbing a bank card from an elderly resident in Slagharen, where the man did odd work work at that time.
The forties was previously convicted of comparable facts. He is plagued by a drug addiction. In Germany, a criminal case is still above him. He wants to cooperate in guidance and treatment. If he doesn’t, he can still serve the conditional part.
