Cell for assault on vulnerable employees of Gasselternijveen company

A 28-year-old owner of a company in Gasselternijveen has been sentenced to 34 months in prison, of which ten months suspended, for assaulting three vulnerable employees and distributing nude photos and videos without permission. The punishment is equal to the requirement of the Public Prosecution Service (OM).

The court blames the man for deliberately attracting vulnerable employees or trainees, including a minor, and making them dependent on him. He worked calculatedly, using self-made contracts that his employees had to adhere to.

The victims were forced to perform or undergo sexual acts. If they didn’t, it would have consequences for them.

Two of the victims were searched naked upon entering a data center they visited for work or an internship. The search was to prevent smuggling of microchips, they were told. These searches were repeated over and over.

A third employee had to take nude photos and videos of himself and the entrepreneur. They were forwarded to an American company for porn sites under a contract. If this did not happen, the employee had to pay high fines.

The case came to light when one of them approached his internship supervisor. During the search of the suspect’s home and company, the access contracts for data centers were found. The suspect was busy destroying documents, which is why the so-called American contract may not have surfaced.

The man shows no insight into his actions and blamed the declarants. They would conspire against him and coordinate the declarations.

This defense was dismissed by the court. All statements agreed on important points. Moreover, they are supported by chat conversations and nude images that were found with the suspect.

The man admitted to the police that he drew up the protocols and contracts himself, but later denied this in court. The latter is based on the statement he made to the police.

The man told the judge two weeks ago that he wants to get back to work as an entrepreneur as soon as he is released. For that reason, he has been banned from hiring vulnerable and underage personnel for a period of five years.

In addition to the imposed prison sentence, the man must undergo treatment. He has also been banned from contacting the victims and must pay them a total of 20,000 euros.
