Catwalk Trends for Fall/Winter 23: Suits and Suits

In all four fashion cities, New York, London, Milan and Paris, the focus for Autumn/Winter 23 was “The Anatomy of Tailoring”. Designer Virginie Viard presented a jacket and matching Bermuda shorts in a patchwork of black, white, gray and pink tweed squares. The ensemble was topped off with a sleeveless waistcoat embellished with the house’s iconic camellias in pink on a black background. Black boots, a silver belt and mismatched earrings completed the look.

Stella McCartney

At Stelle McCartney there was a two-piece brown and orange plaid suit with a double-breasted blazer and a matching knee-length skirt with two side slits. Brown faux fur pumps and a vegan leather tote bag completed the look.

Akris (Designer Albert Kriemler)

Albert Kriemler took to the runway for Akris in a straight-leg pantsuit paired with a double-breasted blazer with a geometric print. The print consisted of the brand’s logo with stripes of rusty red, orange and gold on a beige and black background. The model wore a matching clutch bag.

Etro

At Etro, designer Marco De Vincenzo paired a blazer and matching maxi skirt in black brocade with white dots and embroidered paisleys in navy, blue, white and orange. A navy blue shirt was worn underneath. Accessories included a gold chain with pendants, a brown plaid leather bag and burgundy platform Mary Janes embellished with blue daisies.

Thomas Browne

A gray and white plaid suit worn over a striped shirt and tie under a navy and white plaid three button bouclé coat was seen at Thom Browne. Accessories included a boxy handbag, striped socks and platform pointed-toe oxfords by Spectator.

Alberta Ferretti

Alberta Ferretti presented a two-piece burgundy suit with red stripes and checks with a blazer and straight-leg trousers. A crossbody tote bag and black boots completed the look.

Louis Vuitton

Designer Nicolas Ghesquière sent a burgundy and cream Prince of Wales check two-piece suit down the Louis Vuitton runway. The jacket featured a chain closure instead of a button, and the pants were straight-cut. Underneath, a black, low-cut top was paired with a brown cashmere scarf. The model carried a handbag in the shape of the Louis Vuitton flagship at Place Vendôme, and white patent leather sandals.

Alexander McQueen

At Alexander McQueen, designer Sarah Burton showed off a double-breasted, wide-shouldered blazer and matching oversized pants. Both were made of navy blue and white striped wool. A white shirt and black leather tie were styled underneath. The model wore statement silver earrings and rings.

Saint Laurent

A brown houndstooth wool two piece suit was presented by designer Anthony Vaccarello at Saint Laurent. It consisted of a broad-shouldered blazer with a double flap pocket and a matching skirt that slit above the knee. The costume was shown layered over a black plunging scoop neck top. Accessories included black tights, metallic brown pointed-toe slingbacks, black gloves and black sunglasses.

Antonio Marras

At Antonio Marras there was a two-piece suit in Royal Stewart tartan, consisting of a wide-shouldered, double-breasted, six-button blazer and a matching mid-length pencil skirt. Underneath, a white shirt and tie were combined in the same checked pattern. Black stockings and black and plaid platform shoes completed the look.
