The society lady Jocelyn Wildenstein, known as the “Cat Woman”, is dead. The Swiss woman died on New Year’s Eve in Paris, as her fiancé, the fashion designer Lloyd Klein (57), announced to the AFP news agency on Wednesday. The cause of the “unexpected” death was heart failure.

According to AFP, Wildenstein was 79 years old. Other media reported that she lived to be 84 years old. AFP explained the different information with an interview with Wildenstein in which she commented on her age. Accordingly, her year of birth was swapped with that of her ex-husband.

Jocelyn Wildenstein caused a stir with her appearance. She said she spent more than $4 million on cosmetic surgery, which resulted in her resembling an African wild cat, with slits instead of eyes and bulging lips as a kind of snout.

There are also several spellings of her first name: “Jocelyn” or “Jocelyne”. Wildenstein was married to businessman Alec Wildenstein until 1999, with whom she had two children. (dpa)
