Castelldefels proposes dedicating a street to former councilor Jesús Romo, who recently died

The mayor of Castelldefels (Baix Llobregat), Manu Reyes (PP), initially approved a few weeks ago via decree to propose that Jesus Romo (PP), a historic city councilor recently deceased, becomes have a street in his honor in the city.

From the Castelldefels City Council they explain that it will be a new street. That is, the name of Jesús Romo will not replace any person or element of the street map current, but will baptize a path of new creation.

In this way, the idea of ​​the municipal government is that the section located between Piedad street and the confluence between Manel Girona avenue and Sentiu road becomes known as Jesús Romo street. Thus, the chosen space is a new journey that will originate once develop the construction of housing development planned on plot H1 on Pietat Street.

Historical councilor

The same Castelldefels City Council announced the death of Romo last 28 of July and who died because of “A serious illness“, as the council itself explained then. Romo was born in Madrid in 1937, he was married and father of one son. Graduated in a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, with a specialty in Marketing and a Diploma in Maritime and Air Transportation Techniques, he served as manager of several multinational companies throughout his life.

Jesús Romo was also president of the Local Board of the PP of Castelldefels and he was a historic figure in the Castelldefelense plenary session. He entered as a councilor in the opposition of the council during the 2003-2007 term and in the 2011-2015 term he served as Councilor for Urban Planning and Works. Thus, during the 2015-2019 and 2019-2023 mandate he continued as a PP councilor, although in this period he was once again in the opposition.
