Casis is the new national coach of Iraq – Enrique’s former assistant

What has been speculated for a long time is now official: Jésus Casas will be the new coach of the Iraqi national team. For the former assistant coach of the Spanish national coach Luis Enrique, it is the first head coaching position in the professional field. The 49-year-old is said to have signed a four-year contract, with his assistants Alejando Varela, Salva Romero, Javi Benavent, Pablo Grandes and Miguel Angel starting with him. Most recently, Radhi Shenaishil took over the team on an interim basis after Zeljko Petrovic was sacked in February.
