Carnival: Wagon with flamethrower from procession • fire at carnival mass

Four fewer cars participated than planned in the Keiebijtersstad (Helmond) parade. They were prematurely removed from the parade due to violations of the rules. “One car had flamethrowers, three other cars exceeded the number of decibels allowed,” explains Niki de Greef of the Keiebijters.

The carnival car with fire belonged to a youth group from Venhorst and Boekel who had traveled to Helmond with more than a hundred people and their car ‘Sprookjesbos’. “It is a group that has participated with us before and should therefore know the regulations. Today they have shown that this is not the case,” says De Greef.
