Carnival is just around the corner, two more nights of sleep and then the time has come: walking polonaise, carnival music, floats, sausage rolls and meters of beer. Cozy of course! Only how do you get healthy for five days, without getting sick, through? Well, for example, by eating well and dressing warmly.
When it comes to online fitness coach Janine Smulders from Eindhoven, you can take a bite in the city in the coming days: “That is of course part of Carnival.” But she does have a tip for all carnival enthusiasts. “In addition to fries, frikandels and hair salons, eat a protein -rich meal with some fruit for the vitamins.”
The perfect male breakfast of the Eindhoven is two sandwiches or a whole -grain sandwich with egg, and then some avocado and turkey bacon on it. And then an apple or some blueberries. According to her, you are always ready for a new carnival day.
Furthermore, it is sometimes better to skip a Turkish pizza, Janine believes: “Even though the temptation is sometimes great, make sure that you have a sandwich at home or, for example, pasta.” According to her, some preparation is therefore very important.
“Grab a croquette sandwich, there are the least calories.”
Nutrition coach of Zillekens confirms Janine’s tips: “Whole grain sandwiches, a fried egg and possibly multivitamins. Then you can just go loose in the afternoon. But if you go to the fries stall, grab a croquette sandwich. It contains the least calories.”


Furthermore, it is important to hydrate well by taking enough municipal piles. Because when you drink alcohol, your body slowly dries out. There is also a thin layer of moisture between the brain and your skull. Because of all the beer, this moisture can be extracted from your body and you notice that in the form of a hangover the next day. In addition to meters of beer, also drink a lot of water.

According to the Nutrition Center, the average woman has a need of 2000 kilocalories per day. For the man these are 2500 kilocalories. The website Feestkleding365.nl had the investigation of how many calories the Brabant carnival celebration receives. The outcome: more than 2000 ‘calories per day. So carnival is going on.
