Prince Addie Compen and his aide Boy Jansen will be leading the Budels carnival this year. From Wednesday, January 7, Omroep Brabant will show how the two are preparing for carnival together. In the very first episode of the series ‘The Road to the Three Feathers’ you get to know the cheerful duo.
Addie and Boy normally see the carnival from the other side. Together with Koen, Addie is part of the well-known party duo De Lawineboys, with big hits such as ‘Sex met die kale’ and ‘Joost’. Boy Jansen is known as a talker. In 2019, he won the coveted Silver Narrenhood at the Keiebijters Chat Tournament.
They met each other through their great hobby of acting. Nowadays they regularly perform together on stage under the name ‘JanseDeCoomp’. They travel throughout Brabant with their cabaret performances. “Sisters Tilly and Bets are our favorite alter egos,” says Addie in the first episode of the series.
Let me think for a moment
Addie and his wife Irene had to think for a moment when they were asked for this honorable task. “It was certainly on our bucket list, but it is not easy to combine with my work. During carnival we normally perform a lot with the Avalancheboys. Ultimately it was arranged and I think it is fantastic to be at the forefront this year.”
Unlike Addie, his wife Irene is not used to being in the spotlight. Yet she is also looking forward to hustling, jumping and everything that comes with it. “I go everywhere with me, we are really going to do this together,” she says.
Boy thinks it is a great honor to be an adjutant. “Really cool, I’m looking forward to it,” he says. He describes Addie as a “good bastard.” “A bit stubborn, sometimes a bit stubborn, and a good friend.”
From January 7, ‘The Road to Three Feathers’ can be seen on television every Wednesday from 5 p.m. on Omroep Brabant and on the streaming platform. Brabant+. Looking ahead? Download the Brabant+ app.
