Carhartt hires merchandising expert Tara Roemke

The US clothing retailer Carhartt Inc. has filled an important management position. On Thursday evening, the company announced the appointment of Tara Roemke as VP of Global Merchandising.

In this role, as General Manager, she will be responsible for the Men’s Workwear and Carhartt Company Gear divisions, which includes the protective and workwear business. Roemke is responsible for the product strategy in both categories and reports directly to Chief Brand Officer Susan Hennike.

Roemke can look back on extensive experience in the textile industry. Prior to joining Carhartt, she spent more than 13 years at footwear and apparel retailer Ariat International. Her last position there was Vice President Apparel Merchandising. At the beginning of her career, she had already held various positions at well-known companies such as Levi Strauss and Gap.
