The music school announced the arrival of Kraayenhof Bijdehand. On the poster you could read ‘Do you want your parents to cry?’ The musician has to laugh heartily about it, but he does not expect similar emotions like those of Máxima in class. “They are also different kinds of songs that you play with them. I’m not going to play Adios Nonino with them, haha.”
Cardboard boxes
Kraayenhof, living in the Beemster, is an experienced teacher. In Rotterdam he founded a separate bandoneon trade group at the conservatory. “But I also taught in Argentina in the mountains. We brought Bandoneons to children there.”
He takes a special bandoneon to show how they do it there, one of cardboard. “They play there on cardboard boxes in the absence of financial resources. Then you stick the button field on the side and think of the sound, so that you practice your scales dry. When the teacher comes to the village once a week you get a real Bandoneon.”
